PRIVATE I & AFTER IMAGE COVERS

Redesign of the cover for Private I (2023) and design of a new cover for its sequel, After Image (2025) by Ashlei E. Watson, Jill Fain Lehman, and Paul Pangaro. Balancing the classic detective noir backdrop of both novels with the speculative artificial intelligence-centered story was the primary goal of this project.

The color palette and visual language for the covers reflect the essential narrative elements of the novels: potential technological advancement, companionship between a human and an artificial intelligence, and pursuit of hidden knowledge by a malevolent, criminal force. Illustrated elements repeated between the two covers ensure visual consistency and series recognition.
