OVERVIEW

Logo made for the Probabilistic Graphical Models course (10-708) at Carnegie Mellon University.  I was commissioned by a TA of the class to replace their existing logo, giving it a layer of polish but retaining certain necessary elements. It was designed in a single color to be printed onto clothing.

The soft angles and square bounding boxes of the course initials evoke the data-driven, statistical nature of the course; the logomark reflects this with its modularity and geometric simplicity. Other inspirations were the School of Computer Science mascot—a dragon—and the structure of factor graphs. A variant of the logo was made with additional text denoting the full name of the course.
