ILLUSTRATION PROJECT
OVERVIEW
Unofficial Illustrations made as if to be used in the (now-deleted) GQ article, “The Elvis Impersonator, the Karate Instructor, a Fridge Full of Severed Heads, and the Plot 2 Kill the President.” The first image would be used as the header for the article, and the two other images would be placed throughout to support particular passages of text and the overall flow of the article.
The color palette of saturated warm and cool colors was used to accentuate the theme of rivalry and fierce conflict, with bright oranges and yellows representing aggression or the “enemy.” The specific colors used vary slightly between the three images, keeping the reader interested and unsure of what will come next; splashes of pink and purple are also included to give each image its own identity.
To keep consistent with the tone of the article, the final image breaks from the high-contrast, symmetrical style of the first two, easing the reader out with a simpler and more relaxed visual.
